In February 1996, Berks County-born John Updike signed copies of his new book, “In the Beauty of the Lilies,” at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster. It being Valentine’s Day, the one-time cartoonist adorned one of his signatures with a hand-drawn heart. We’ve reproduced the heart in pink ink on our first women’s-cut tee.
