Feeling the strong pull of customer suggestions

The Pennsylvania Craft Beer Magnet looks great on a car or on a beer fridge.

We introduced our Pennsylvania Craft Beer design, on a short-sleeve tee and on a pint glass, in September 2019.

Later that month, I inquired of our Instagram followers whether they would purchase a craft beer sticker.

“Yup!” one woman responded.

“I want one for my car,” another woman wrote.

But the sticker didn’t debut until June 2020 at our first show in the Covid era.

That November, I placed a small order for craft beer magnets. Presumably because we were still in the grips of the pandemic and unsure where everything was headed (I can’t recall for certain), I cancelled the order.

Inexplicably given the negligible cost, I still hadn’t acted when I met a man at the Harrisburg Flea in February 2024.

Looking for engagement

We talked about the craft beer sticker, but he preferred a magnet. In that instant, I felt the pull to give this customer what he wanted. I told him that we would finally make a craft beer magnet.

So, at long last, we have a Pennsylvania Craft Beer Magnet, available online and wherever we pop up.

We always want to engage with our customers, including if they have a comment about an existing product or a suggestion for a new one or a thought on how Stay can serve their needs better.

We can’t or won’t always deliver: We’ve found reasons not to offer women’s tank tops (couldn’t find a fit we liked) or V-neck (not convinced of a big enough market).

But we’ll do our best, as we did with the expedited reprinting of our Bear’s Department Store Tee in summer 2023. One customer asked for it in a long-sleeve tee, which we otherwise weren’t offering; a second customer wanted an out-of-stock size for a friend, a veteran who was turning 100.

Coincidentally, just days before writing this, I heard from the second customer.

“You made a lot of people in this family very happy and I just wanted to THANK YOU for helping me make his birthday so special with this wonderful walk down memory lane!” she wrote.

I thanked her for her kind words, but I told that it was really her doing.

Likewise, the man who preferred the craft beer magnet deserves credit for speaking up and finally spurring me to act.

Now, how can we help you?
