Introducing our Made in USA Shopping Directory

As our fifth birthday approaches, we’ve come full circle.

The idea for Stay Apparel Co. grew partly out of blog posts we wrote for our public relations business. Writing posts as often as we did, we ventured beyond PR; other topics included baseball, music, food, travel.

And around the Fourth of July and Christmas, we wrote about Made in USA brands we admired. After a couple years of that, in 2016 we put some skin in the game and offered a couple of our own American-made items: a Hershey felt pennant and a Hershey knit hat.

In October 2017, we launched the Stay website and began participating in pop-up markets soon thereafter. In 2021, we added a curated selection of U.S.-made household and gift items.

And here we are, turning 5! We’re celebrating the occasion with an ode to what got us here in the first place.

American-made brands that inspire us

Whether for Stay or for our personal lives, we’re always looking for great American-made products. We subscribe to the philosophy of buy better but less, and we encourage others to become more purposeful consumers.

Buying American-made products is good for American workers and communities, which makes us a stronger, more united country. Domestic products don’t have to travel as far as imports, which is better for the environment.

To that end, and completing the circle, we are marking our fifth birthday and celebrating the many American-made brands that inspire us every day with the launch of our Made in USA Shopping Directory.

We’ve purchased from many of the more than 130 brands on the list, which we will continue to add to over time.

Confirm before buying

A word of caution: Not everything that each of these brands sells is always Made in the USA. So it’s always important to do your homework and to ask lots of questions (it’s your money, after all).

We think of the directory as a valuable map, but you’ll want to have your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel as you near your destination. In this ever-changing world, it’s always a good idea to confirm that what you are buying is made here (and if it’s not, ask the seller why not).

If you would like to suggest brands that we should add, please reach out to us at hello@stayapparel.com with Made in USA Shopping Directory in the subject line. We’ll do our best to consider all submissions.

And while you’re pondering all of the Made in USA options, we ask that you keep Stay in your thoughts.

We’re grateful for all of the support we have garnered in our first five years. We look forward to delivering great original and curated American-made products and excellent customer service for many more years to come.

Thank you for supporting the Made in USA movement.
