Another round for our Helb's Keystone Brewery Tee

We removed ink from the Helb’s design to give it a sleeker feel.

I’m not big on sequels, movies in particular.

“Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” cast a pall over Christmas Day 2013 for our family. All too often, redux is regrettable.

But I’m making an exception for our Helb’s Keystone Brewery Tee, which debuted in 2018 and just got a makeover. It’s the first time we’ve redesigned one of our tees, but I think we kept our artistic integrity intact.

The original Helb’s tee, based on an actual Helb’s bottle label, has been popular, prompting us to reprint it a couple of times. It’s our most expensive design because it involves three colors (cream, metallic gold and red); we use one color for most of our tees.

Because of the metallic gold, we have to use traditional Plastisol ink, which sits on top of the fabric. The original design featured a lot of cream ink, which left the design heavier than we prefer.

With only small, medium and large sizes left in our inventory this spring, it seemed like a good time to make a change.

Working with our screen printer, Unique Apparel in Lancaster, we reworked the design to remove most of the cream ink and made the gold more prominent. Honestly, as much as I love the look of the original Helb’s tee, the new one might be even more eye-catching.

We think our Helb’s tees, original and sequel, are worthy of “Anchorman” sportscaster Champ Kind’s signature catch phrase.

“Whammy!”
